President
Max Rao, P. Eng.
Max graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering, specializing in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources. He earned his Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in 1998. Since graduating in 1995, Max has built a successful career in the water industry, with a focus on equipment design and sales across various sectors, including stormwater, drinking water, wastewater, and process water. His experience spans the entire sales cycle—from project discovery and engineering presentations to design, budgeting, contract negotiations, project management, commissioning, training, and after-sales support. Max has contributed to numerous projects across Canada, appreciating the diversity of challenges and opportunities that come with working in a large geographic area.
Max specializes in Polymer Makedown and Feed Equipment, as well as ORP Controllers for Chlorination and Dechlorination Control. He has authored several articles and white papers on these subjects and continues to offer his expertise through Aquafy.
Max serves as a Director on the Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO) board. He has also held various leadership roles within the WEAO Conference Committee, including Exhibition Lead, Budget, Local Arrangements, and Conference Chair. Max lives in Toronto with his wife, Michelle, and their daughter, Zoe.

Field Service Engineer
Amber Klassen, P.Eng
Amber is a Field Service Engineer at Aquafy Water Technologies Inc., bringing over five years of hands-on experience in water and wastewater treatment across both private and municipal sectors. She has been involved in all aspects of project delivery and is particularly passionate about applying her expertise in the field to drive innovative and sustainable solutions.
Amber earned her degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph in 2018 and obtained her P.Eng. designation in 2023. Since entering the industry in 2019, Amber has been an active member of the Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO). She has had the privilege of chairing the WEAO Young Professionals (YP) and YP Social Committees and contributes to the Residuals and Biosolids and Climate Change Committees. In addition, she serves as a Board Member for the Ontario Pollution Control Equipment Association (OPCEA), further supporting advancements in the industry.
She currently resides in Guelph with her partner, Michael, her cat, Gilbert, and her axolotl, Miss Bleam.

Technical Sales Representative
John Devlin
John graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College in 2010 with a Diploma in International Sales and Marketing, specializing in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services. Prior to that, he studied Biological Sciences at the University of Guelph from 2005 to 2007. In 2010, John began his career in the Water and Wastewater industry, complementing his work with several courses from the Canadian Professional Sales Association, including those focused on direct sales and negotiations.
With years of experience in the field, John has developed expertise in selling and servicing process instrumentation, process analyzers, mechanical equipment, biological processes, and treatment system designs. He is an experienced Technical Sales Lead with a proven track record in the Water and Wastewater Process and Equipment Industry.
Currently, John is in his third year as a director with the Ontario Pollution Control Equipment Association (OPCEA) and is actively involved with the Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO). He serves on the WEAO Conference Committee, the Influence Magazine Committee, and the Young Professionals (YP) Committee, where he also holds the role of YP Conference Chair. John has been volunteering in these capacities since early 2016.
John lives in Toronto, ON, with his fiancée, Melanie, and their son, Mason.
