Mark Curtis

Mark is Founder/Principal of Business Improvement Group of Companies, President of ITC Recovery Services Inc., Principal of BIG Funding Inc., and Chairman of BIG Benefits & HR Services Inc. Mark's primary responsibility is to develop the overall strategy for the company and build the client base and team to support the needs of our clients. After graduating from the University of Guelph (B.Comm. Hons), Mark worked six years with a small consulting firm specializing in providing various services to manufacturing organizations. In 1999, Mark joined a Big Four accounting firm as Vice President in a combined role of delivering services to clients and managing a territory that expanded to include all of Canada. In addition to his management position, Mark became passionate about the SR&ED program and developing a practice to service the mid market with deep engineering and accounting expertise. Mark joined Business Improvement Group in 2004 as President and Partner. Mark's area of focus includes various traditional manufacturing companies, food processors, farms and professional service companies. Mark was born and raised in Guelph where he currently lives with his wife Lesley and two daughters.



   Alun Lloyd, P. Eng.

Alun is a principal partner at BA Consulting Group Ltd. since moving to Canada in 1995 from the U.K. where he began his career. BA Group is a private Canadian firm of consulting engineers and transportation planners, founded in 1975 and based in Toronto, who specialize in providing professional services in support of a wide variety of land development and transportation related projects. BA Group has a staff of approximately 55 technical staff and works collaboratively with government agencies, property owners and developers, architects, planners and other multi-disciplinary team members to create high quality urban places supported by properly integrated transportation systems. BA Group has contributed to the success of thousands of noteworthy development projects in Toronto, across Southern Ontario, Canada and in countries throughout the world. BA Group’s Toronto portfolio includes many of the City’s landmark developments such as the CN Tower, the AGO, the Rogers Centre, the ROM, the Southcore Financial Centre, Maple Leaf Square, the Air Canada Centre, the Distillery District, Evergreen at the Brickworks and the now emerging East Bayfront and West Don Lands Precincts on the City’s Lake Ontario waterfront. Alun holds a Masters of Civil Engineering with Architecture degree from the University of Leeds (1991) and is one of the Principal leads of BA Group’s urban development practice. His résumé includes hundreds of traffic, transportation and parking studies, and the planning and design of site vehicular and parking systems in some of the most challenging of urban circumstances. He works with a wide range of private and public sector clients and has a reputation for developing excellent community and neighbourhood master and public realm plans such as those now emerging across the City of Toronto’s Central and Eastern waterfront. Alun also provides services relating to the planning of roadway schemes and traffic management during construction projects, and he has successfully represented clients at numerous public meetings and at the Ontario Municipal Board. From 2004 to 2006, Alun was a member of the City of Toronto Roundtable On A Beautiful City, which reported to the Mayor and City Council and focused on developing a clean, vibrant, and beautiful City of Toronto. Alun was also a member of the City of Toronto’s Design Review Panel between 2011 and 2014.



   Dave Stephens, P. Eng.

Dave graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1978 with a BASc in Civil Engineering. He has been a Professional Engineer since 1981 and is now a life member of APEGA. Dave started his career in Manufacturing with Ingersol Rand Company in Winnipeg, MB. Dave moved to Calgary and joined Wallace & Tiernan as Alberta Manager. Dave transferred to Toronto in 1984 and later moved over to FMC as Product Manager for Water, Wastewater and Thermal Products. He had very good success with FMC until moving back to Calgary in 1990 as Principal in Alberta Mequipco Ltd. Dave grew Mequipco into the largest Environmental rep company in Western Canada with offices in Winnipeg, MB, Richmond, BC, and Calgary, AB. Mequipco has represented such companies as GE, US Filter, Siemens, Veolia, ITT, Degremont, and many others. Some major projects included Clarifiers, Thickeners and Odour control for Pine Creek WWTP, 10 Actiflo Clarifiers for the City of Calgary, Storm and Primary Treatment for Goldbar (EPCOR), Actiflo Clarifiers for Red Deer WTP and chemical feed systems for most plants in Alberta. Dave was active with Western Canada Water and Wastewater Association, Alberta Water Operators Association and APEGA. Dave's active involvement ended when all his shares of Mequipco were sold in 2015.
